Various historical and cultural influences led to the development of hip-hop about 50 years ago. The late 80's and early 90's are considered the heyday of hip-hop and are referred to as the "Golden Age". This period has a high profile in music and continues to shape notable artists and the music industry to this day. The encyclopedia created as part of this bachelor thesis serves to provide an overview of this period and important performers. In designing this book, a clear and interactive medium, about the 100 most important artists of this period, was created for the reader. The encyclopedia contains all relevant information about the included artists and divides them by color coding into the genres East Coast, West Coast and Southern Hip-Hop.
Verschiedene historische und kulturelle Einflüsse haben dazu geführt, dass sich vor etwa 50 Jahren der Hip-Hop entwickelt hat. Die späten 80er und die frühen 90er Jahre gelten als die Blütezeit des Hip-Hop und werden als „Golden Age“ bezeichnet. Diese Zeit hat einen hohen Stellenwert in der Musik und prägt namhafte Künstler und die Musikbranche bis zur heutigen Zeit. Die Enzyklopädie, die im Rahmen dieser Bachelorarbeit erstellt wurde, dient dazu einen Überblick über diesen Zeitraum und wichtige Interpreten zu verschaffen. Bei der Gestaltung dieses Buches wurde für den Leser ein übersichtliches und interaktives Medium, über die 100 wichtigsten Künstler dieses Zeitraumes, konzipiert. Die Enzyklopädie enthält alle relevanten Informationen zu den enthaltenen Künstlern und teilt diese durch eine Farbcodierung in die Genre East Coast, West Coast und Southern Hip-Hop.
